Log 002: The Axis and the Gutter

To understand the rebellion, one must understand the Axis.

The Republic is not merely a government; it is a geometric certainty. At the summit sits the Axis of Symmetria, a spire of glass and perfect equations where the “Ideal Citizens” live in a perpetual, polished present. Here, every action is a reflection, and every reflection is a law. It is a world without friction, because friction requires a surface that is unpolished.

But geometry demands a base.

Directly beneath the gleaming floors of the Axis lies the Dust Gutter. This is the repository for the Commonwealth’s “Waste Data.” When a citizen’s pulse becomes erratic, when a word is spoken that doesn’t fit the lexicon, or when a memory refuses to be smoothed over, it is discarded. It falls.

The Gutter is where the friction lives. It is a labyrinth of rusted iron, damp vellum, and the discarded souls (Anima) of the city.

The Commonwealth views the Gutter as a failure, a glitch in the system. They are wrong. The Gutter is the foundation. It is the only place where things are heavy enough to stay still. While the Axis spins in its frantic, empty loop, we in the Gutter are building something permanent from the scraps they throw away.

We are not the Glitch. We are the Discord.
